Decluttering and Organization is not About Perfection
You have spent many hours decluttering, organizing and restyling, then take a step back and you smile and think ..."Wow my house is going to stay like this always!"
Well I hate to be the one to burst your happy bubble but chances are your home will not stay that way always. Thinking that your house should be perfect all the time not only puts a lot of pressure on you, but also on your family.
Yes, decluttering can reduce your housework by 40% and having a place for all your stuff is huge to having an efficiently run home. What we sometimes forget, or are not prepared for, is that life happens and things get messy. Sometimes you might have to spend time helping someone who is sick or your kids play a million different sports and they all have to be there at the same time on the same day. Very quickly your home has gone from calm to chaos and you feel that all your hard work has been for nothing.
Take a Deep breath... Just breathe.... It's ok, you are about to see what all your hard work is for! The difference now as opposed to the past is you now have all the systems in place to bring your home back under control in half the time that it took before. You no longer have all the clutter to deal with and you and your family know exactly where everything goes. I truly do understand messy with two kids, three cats, two dogs, my kid's activities and the list goes on.
It's ok if life gets messy. Remember to be kind to yourself, be reasonable with your expectations and laugh at what life throws you. It's much easier to take with a smile on your face.
Enjoy your life to the fullest even if it gets messy!
