Family Valentine's Day

I've put together my three favourite things to do for Valentine's Day. See if anything works for you!

A fun, easy and inexpensive way to decorate for valentines especially if you have kids, is to cut out a whole bunch of hearts and put them all over your house. You can make them all different sizes and colors, or use plain paper and color them yourself. Let your kids put them around the house you would be amazed at how creative they can be.

The second thing I love is to put a splash of the color red around the house to warm and spice things up. A great way to do this is with pillows, throws, candles, decorative heart dishes and of course Red Roses are just a few things you can use.

The third thing that I love ok I admit it, it has nothing to do with decorating, it is the chocolates that comes in the heart shape boxes the bigger the better!

For Valentine's Day celebrating we make our favourite family dinner, after dinner we bring out the heart shaped box of chocolates (or two) and play board games. We decided when the kids were about 3and 5 that we would make it a family event (they are now 10 and 12 years old).
