Let 2010 be Your Gold Metal Start!
It's that time of year again for New Year's resolutions. The most common resolution that I hear is...
"I'm going to shed those extra pounds and get into shape."
Here's something to consider: how about doing that for your home? Often your home is a reflection on how you feel and what is going on in your life. In order to make a complete transformation, it is important to not only change how you feel about your body but also how you feel about your surroundings. Think about how great you will feel when you and your home are in great shape!
When your home is cluttered and unorganized you tend to feel weighed down, tired and sometimes tied to the past to a person you no longer are. When you start to release these items, it's like a cleanse... not only for your home but for your soul.
How to get started: Just like any other regime, you have to schedule time on your calendar and commit to following through. However, before you go running out to buy those awesome storage bins, you need to declutter first. When you have gone through everything and are ready to organize, you will know what size and how many storage bins you will need. It's always important to label all the contents of your bins so you know what is in each one and to make it easier to find items when you need them.
You will feel great after you have shed all those items that are no longer useful or loved and are now surrounded by only the things that generate happy and content feelings. It feels like a fresh spring breeze that has blown through your home.
Spring is really not far off so if you start now, when it does arrive, you will have so much more time to enjoy the outdoors instead of spending wasted time inside.
